With a continued commitment sustainable building practices, C. A. Post with Alliance Builders is always
looking for "Greener" technologies. He had contacted Advanced Mulching Technologies, Inc (the parent company of EcoGro) in order
to find a more ecologically-sensitive form of perimeter sediment control. In September of 2005, Alliance was constucting
a high-tech, high-efficientcy home on the banks of Elkhorn Creek. Becuase C.A. was building with Low Impact Design (LID)
principles, he wanted to disturb as little as possible along the property's most valued asset, the scenic Elkhorn Creek.
Because most of the trees were left intact and the land was not cleared beyond the footprint of construction, AMT was able to install
our unique type of sediment control. Without trenching through roots and turning up soil, a 12" perimeter control Filtersoxx was installed
in place over the irregular terrain. Not only did this application method protect senstive root systems, but also offered the use
of a product that was 99% composted wood chips. Once the project was completed and the erosion control was no longer needed,
only the Filtersoxx netting was removed. The compost was scattered onsite to further protect the soil and add valuable organic
material as vegetation was established.
Satisfied with our product, Alliance Builders also included 12" Filtersoxx
on their latest project, near downtown Lexington.
